Last night was the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual ball for the new costume exhibit Punk: Chaos to Couture. This star-studded event included the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Nicole Richie, Jennifere Lawrence, Katy Perry, Beyonce and many more celebrities dressing up in punk inspired ensembles to go along with the focus of this years event. While some celebs didn’t quite make the mark, we thought it would be fun to pair our favorite looks of the night with one of our fabulous Chicastic accessories. Do you agree with some of our top picks? What accessories from our site would you have paired them with?
Miley nailed the punk look for the Met gala last night in this edgy chic Marc Jacobs dress. She exemplifies what the punk era is all about with her fearless spikey hair do and bold red lip. Although she has the look down perfectly, we though a little extra bling wouldn’t hurt the look at all!
Clothing designer and Fashion Star judge Nicole Richie is another celeb who had the right idea last night. She took her hairstyle to the next level by coloring it it grey while rocking an all white gown by Topshop. We thought our Silver Glitter Rhinestone Duster Knuckle Clutch would be a great addition to this dress.
Leave it to music icon and queen of reinvention Madonna to completely immerse her style in to the theme of this event. Her Givenchy ensemble screams punk from the top of her black blunt cut bangs to the bottom of her neon pink pumps. A faux snake skin knuckle duster clutch would be perfect for this look.
Jennifer Lawrence is breath taking in this beautiful Dior gown. She is definitely giving us a punk princess look and successfully executes the perfect mix of punk and couture with a short veil to make it complete. We thought it would be a good idea to add an extra bit of edge to her overall look by pairing it with this faux patent leather snakeskin envelope clutch available now at Chicastic.
Anne Hathaway is another celebrity that surprised us all with a drastic hair change. With her bleach blonde lock, she stuns us all with a beautiful vintage Valentino dress that dates back into the early 1990’s. Pictured with the designer himself, we think he serves as her best accessory and that a simple metallic mini clutch is all she needs while making her way into the ball.
