Not every bride wants to wear white on her wedding day. We’re not saying you need to get married on Halloween in order to pick a different color wedding dress, but it’s a unique and memorable option. There are many reasons to plan your wedding on this particular day. Maybe it’s your favorite holiday, or you met on Halloween, or possibly you just like dark and creepy things. Whatever the reason, have fun playing up the theme.

For your dress, pick a dark color. It could be a deep red, or purple, or even black. Make it as dramatic as you like, just make sure your bridesmaids’ dresses match in style. When accessorizing, keep in mind the venue and weather. If you decide you want to have your ceremony in a graveyard, or just outside among the fall foliage, wear shawls and wedges or flats. If it’s an indoor affair, you can wear a pair of fabulous pumps or cute t-strap heels. Playing up the drama of the day with your jewelry and clutch is also acceptable. Maybe a black statement necklace paired with a knuckle duster clutch.

You don’t need to feel obligated to decorate with cheesy decorations of spiders and ghosts. Little touches like offering Hobgoblin beer or a trick or treat themed dessert candy buffet are great nods to the date. Maybe even throw “Thriller” onto your playlist. A photo booth would fit in perfectly or even take it a step further and let guests come in costume. Keep in mind that it’s your wedding, so play up the Halloween theme as much as you like.
