Oscar Trends for Your Wardrobe

The Oscars were last night and they provided us with some amazing fashion. Here are some trends you can work into your own wardrobe.

Pearls, beads and other embellishments were big last night. From Lupita Nyongo’o to Jennifer Aniston and Jennifer Lopez, they all had amazing embellished gowns. Incorporate this into your own look through a beaded top or a beaded skirt. If you think that’s too much for your personal style, then choose a clutch that has the same elements.

Statement necklaces were another trend on the red carpet. These jewelry pieces are a lot easier to work into your wardrobe. You don’t need to wear pricey diamonds either, take a cue from Cate Blanchett and wear a turquoise necklace, or inexpensive fashion jewelry works just as well.

Colors on the red carpet varied. We saw some off white pink colors which unfortunately don’t flatter every skin tone. There were also some stunning white dresses and fabulous red ones. We’d like to focus on those. You can easily incorporate these colors into your everyday look, but we’d love to see them incorporated into date night dresses or at cocktail parties.

As far as hair, we saw a lot of up-dos and hair that was slicked back, which may have been influenced by the weather, including some fabulous ponytails. So check out some YouTube videos to get your perfect ponytail and look like a red carpet celebrity.
