It’s official, Hillary Clinton is running for president. In honor of this announcement we came up with a modern business suit look. It’s not an ensemble we expect to see Hillary in, but we think it’d look great on you for your next business meeting!

On top we started off with a fitted suit jacket. We chose one in a neutral black to convey power and a serious tone. For the bottom we decided to go a little more playful. Instead of slacks, we opted for a pencil skirt with a pattern. To continue the business tone we kept it in black and white instead of a more colorful design. For shoes, we went for a modern heeled bootie. You want to wear no nonsense footwear, not a strappey heel.

We don’t want the look to be all black and white though. A little pop of color can be fun and still powerful. We chose a solid colored deep red scarf to give this look that extra something. We think the color is strong, unlike a more feminine pastel or bright color. Another option instead of a scarf would be a structured statement necklace.
