Prom- Lace Dresses

One of our favorite trends for prom 2015 is lace. It’s elegant, visually exciting, and perfect for a prom dress.

The key to keeping lace youthful is the length. A long gown covered in lace reads more bridal than prom. A shorter hem length gives the dress more of a party feel.

There are so many cute ways to incorporate lace into a prom dress such as lace detailing around the waist. If you want to feel like a princess, then go for an a-line shape that has volume on the bottom. Think of it almost like a cropped ballgown. A black and white dress in this design would look stunning and hit on another 2015 trend. It can easily be accessorized with black and white accessories like a black and white rhinestone clutch and black peep toe heels. For jewelry, we’d recommend a bold black and white ring or bracelet and stud earrings. If you’re adventurous, throw on a pair of heels in a different color, like purple.

For a sweeter version of this dress, try a solid colored gown that has a lace overlay on the bodice and finishes into a sleeveless top. Neutral colored accessories like a silver clutch and silver shoes compliment this look. A simple bracelet or silver ring would finish off the ensemble.

To go outside of the box, yet modern, try a dress with a form fitting base layer and lace overlay. The dress provides coverage and chicness at the same time. If yellow works on your skin tone, then it’s a bonus since it’s another spring trend. Accessorize a yellow dress with bronze/gold accessories like a knuckleduster clutch and pumps. Little to no jewelry is needed with the amount of detail that’s already in this dress.
