It may officially be fall, but around here we’ve been having days that feel like late spring. It makes it difficult to know how to dress. It should be a season of boots, cardigans and autumnal colors but the temperature doesn’t match that. Here’s how to dress on days when it feels like autumn took a holiday.
Stick with the colors of the season. Keep with the rusts, browns, and deeper shades of colors. Then focus on warmth, or rather the need to not have it. If you have lightweight pieces in these colors, that’s perfect. A thin long sleeve shirt with a deep green knee length skirt would be a cute fall look. Normally this outfit would require a pair of tights and some boots to keep you cozy on crisp days. In this situation, keep the boots but ditch the tights. You’ll have that fall look but without overheating.
Another outfit could be a pair of jeans or leggings, again paired with a lightweight shirt, and then draped with a very lightweight cardigan. You can even skip the cardigan and just add a scarf depending how warm it is. In this situation, since you’re wearing pants, we’d opt for a pair of fall colored ballet flats.
