Clean Out Your Closet Before the Holidays

The holiday season is fast approaching, not to mention Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just a few weeks away. Now is a good time to reevaluate your wardrobe and get rid of any unwanted clothing and accessories.

Some people like to purge when the seasons change, but if you didn’t do it then, do it now. You’ll want to have room for all the great deals you’ll find on the big shopping days or for gifts you’ll be receiving this year. When you’re sorting through your clothing, think about if you’ll wear it anymore. If you didn’t wear it in the past year, you’re not likely to wear it this year. Donate it so someone else can get use out of it. Go through your cardigans, jeans, dresses, etc, and get rid of items that are ill fitting or don’t really make you happy. If you’re still having a tough time letting go, then take a photo of the item, and also think ab0ut the joy it could bring someone else.

Go through your shoes, from sneakers to heels, are there ones you simply don’t wear anymore? Same goes for your jewelry collection. If you’re looking for a little extra holiday cash to help you purchase gifts for others, try selling some pieces online or at consignment shops.

Don’t forget to look through your winter clothing for jackets, scarves, gloves and other warm items that you’re not using. They can really make a difference to people in the cold weather. Check out local organizations to donate to and know you did a good deed.

Now that you have a little more wiggle room in your drawers and some spare hangers, check out Chicastic and put a few things on your wish list.
