Spring is one of the more popular times of year to get married. The land brightens up and fills with color following the snows from winter, and when it comes to fashion, bright, fresh pastels tend to take the forefront. While pastels can be bright, they can also be soft depending on your desired effect, and both options are more than appropriate for spring. Pastels usually consist of pale shades, such as yellow, green, pink and purple. Purple has been particularly hot these past few years and orange is also on the rise. These two colors can work great when used as pastels for your bridal accessories such as clutch purses.
In their raw form, purple and orange make a bold and bright color contrast. Normally yellow is purples complimentary color but orange, being in the same color family as yellow, is a close second. When in paler forms, such as in the pastel tone, purple and orange are muted but still bold colors both together and apart. When it comes to bridal accessories, accents are the best way to incorporate color without going overboard. While the bride and groom’s color schemes are essentially set (if you’re having a traditional wedding, that is) there is always room to play when it comes to sashes, bow ties, ties, and of course the bridesmaids dresses and bridesmaid purses. These are great ways to incorporate color into the bridal party and you can even alternate with between the two, whichever you choose. Have the men wear pastel purple ties and the bridesmaids wear pastel orange dresses, or even the other way around. And you can choose to go with either purple or orange alone, of course.
When it comes to decor, ribbons, balloons, place settings and floral center pieces can incorporate the pastels you want to accent your wedding. Choose pale orange flowers or use pastel purple napkins and ribbons for the silverware. And don’t forget about the invitations, RSVP requests and of course, the cake! All of these decor accessories can add some freshness to your wedding while keeping it classy and traditional. The schemes are entirely up to you, and whether you decide to go with one or two accent colors depends on your preference and personal style. Don’t be afraid to add some brightness to a traditional wedding, especially if you incorporate them by using accents and accessories. Evoke the warmth and freshness of spring into your wedding.
